Luxembourg’s Orange Flag Music said “his music calls men powerful and full of passion.” Jim Hynes of The Daily Ripple praised Feter’s “strong picking and affecting harmonies,” and John Apice, of Americana Highways deemed his vocals on “This Storm Shall Pass Away” “dusky and authentic,” adding, “even in its primitive modern mythos with an old English folk song tint that seeps through into an Americanized song – it’s bright and beautiful.” Feter’s mournful vocal quality he shares with his esteemed forebears is complemented by his blistering guitar work, culminating in a sound both familiar and exotic.

Feter wrote his first song at 14. He cut his teeth in the Detroit area, playing everything from blues rock to Americana. His early work is featured on Janet Bates’ 2007 track, “Here on the Farm,” as well as with The Fortytwo, Sunday Morning Light, Thunder Buck Ram, and more.

After relocating to California in 2016, he released his self-titled debut solo album in 2019, followed by the single, “This Storm Shall Pass Away,” in 2020. He then co-founded The Sidemen, whose self-titled 2022 debut showcased Feter’s powerful musicality and earned accolades throughout the roots music community, including as Americana Highways’ record of the month in July 2022.

a powerful release—Momma Prayed (2025) by Feter is being described as a heartfelt collection that blends the storytelling of a traveling cowboy with the musical textures of both Southern California and Michigan.
