Collings SJ MhGSSSB - German Spruce/Figured Mahogany (Used - 2024)

Check out this beautiful, almost new, Collings SJ!  This guitar has some great customizations, including a German Spruce top, a wonderfully figured mahogany body, a sunburst finish, gold Waverly tuners, tortoise bindings and a short scale length (24 7/8") which makes playability so easy and really warms up the tone.  There is no lack of volume or treble definition, just lots of warmth, depth and clarity.  The guitar is in wonderful condition.  I cannot find any marks or blemishes and the set-up is excellent for easy playability.  Brand new (just last year!), this guitar retailed for $9550.

Here is Collings' description of this model: The SJ is our version of what is commonly called a Small Jumbo. Although the 16-inch lower bout is slightly wider than a dreadnought, and the sides almost as deep, the tight curve at the waist creates in a very different sound chamber. SJs, especially examples in maple, typically have a more pronounced midrange response when compared to a dreadnought, making them ideal candidates for a rounded cutaway. Players looking for the bass and overall volume of a large guitar, but with lots of treble clarity and midrange crunch, often find just what they need in the curvaceous SJ.
