Santa Cruz OM Grand Custom - German Spruce/African Blackwood (NEW)

This handsome instrument, a custom Santa Cruz OM Grand, has been built with a German Spruce top with a touch of bear claw, and an African Blackwood back and sides.  African Blackwood has gained a reputation as a wonderful tonewood, very similar to Brazilian Rosewood in its tone qualities.  This guitar has been further customized with Adirondack advanced X bracing attached with hot hide glue, an African Blackwood overlay on the peghead, and a subtle vintage tint.  

This guitar sounds incredibly rich, warm and huge, with each note blooming with terrific sustain.  Santa Cruz has done it again with a world class instrument!  Here is Santa Cruz's description of the OM Grand:

SCGC’s OM Grand is a bigger, lusher, louder sister to their extremely popular OM model.  In comparison, the OM Grand embodies the same elegance, only in increased quantity of volume, projection and bass.  More isn’t necessarily better, though in the context of a band’s competing acoustic instruments the ‘more’ of the OM Grand assures the guitar’s rightful dominance in the ensemble. The strength of the OM Grand isn’t limited to sheer volume. In the sometimes restrained presence of solo fingerstyle playing, the inherent power of this guitar will generate a forceful bloom, requiring less effort with no loss of nuance.
