Playing in a duo is one of the most creative and rewarding ways to make music. Rooted deeply in both jazz and folk traditions, the duo format invites musicians to listen closely, leave space, and shape the music together in real time. Without the density of a larger ensemble, every choice becomes more personal, conversational, and alive.
Join guitarist Prawit Siriwat and bassist Daniel Durst for a workshop on duo strategies for creating interactive and intimate performances. Through years of friendship and musical partnership, their duo has developed a shared vocabulary built on trust, responsiveness, and deep listening.
This workshop is open to all instrumentalists and vocalists. Singer-songwriters are very welcome to join as there will be a portion of the workshop specifically about accompanying vocalists.
